Tom Potten (Piano) started piano lessons at the age of 7, and throughout his school years he developed his enthusiasm for music. In 2002 he gained his Bachelor of Music degree from the London College of Music and Media, having studied with composer Kit Turnbull and Jazz musician Eddie Harvey. It was here that his passion for contemporary music really began. Since then he has been working as a piano teacher and session musician around the county. He opened Cadenza Music School in 2011 with Katherine and another partner, while continuing performance work in classical, jazz and pop styles. He is a member of the function band "Programmed 2 Function", and has provided music at many weddings and ceremonies, from light background jazz to ceremonial organ music. He has also played at many restaurants and function rooms in Essex. Tom is happiest when accompanying Katherine, in particular when they perform Jazz Standards together as is this is both his passion and what he feels sits easiest on the piano. He has a strong belief in good quality 'ambient music'.
